Elon Musk shares SpaceX’s latest attempt to land its reusable Falcon 9 rocket on a ship in the ocean. The landing was almost a success but an issue with one of the legs caused the rocket to tip over and explode in dramatic fashion. On Instagram Musk adds:
Falcon lands on droneship, but the lockout collet doesn’t latch on one the four legs, causing it to tip over post landing. Root cause may have been ice buildup due to condensation from heavy fog at liftoff.
