Emotional Wedding Haka Brings Maori Bride to Tears

At the wedding of Benjamin and Aaliyah Armstrong, a powerful and moving haka was performed, stirring emotions and bringing the bride to prideful tears.

The haka was organized by the groom’s best man and was led by his older brother. According to the BBC: ‘the Haka is used in traditional Maori culture as a war cry to intimidate the enemy, but also to welcome special guests at celebrations.’

Aaliyah said she was moved to join after one of her bridesmaids did. While women do not typically perform the haka in Maori culture, they can do so at weddings.
