The Volcanic Island of Ambrym Vanuatu Archipelago is kind of the stuff of nightmares, unless you’re into the whole flowing lava and hot piping volcano thing.
But, some brave souls have decided to camp within one of the craters, the Marum Crater. It actually looks rather sci-fi, as the campers have to wear their futuristic, tinfoil looking suits.
These campers wanted a thrill. They wanted to find a campsite on the edge of the earth, and they clearly got more than they bargained for. The sounds are incredible, the views are insane, but it’s still eery and chilling. You may be wondering what we are…what would compel somebody to sleep next to such a sleeping giant?
“Since I first laid my eyes upon this place, I thought it’d be incredible to sleep down here and now we’re making that possible,” one of the campers said while walking through the crater.
