Remastered ‘Friends’ Episodes Will Be Shown In Movie Theaters
They’ll be there for you! One of America’s most beloved sitcom television series turns 25 years old next month, and there’s going to be a big celebration, so get your Central Perk espressos ready!
“Friends” premiered on Sept. 22, 1994, and to celebrate 25 years of Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Chandler, Joey, and Ross, more than 1,000 movie theaters across the United States will screen 12 newly remastered episodes of the show.
“Friends 25th: The One with the Anniversary” will span three nights: Sept. 23 and 28 and Oct. 2. Each night, four episodes — all of them converted from 35mm camera negatives to 4K — will play. Additionally, there will be new interviews and content never seen before.
Warner Bros. Television Group President and Chief Marketing Officer Lisa Gregorian said that the “cultural impact that Friends continue to have, 25 years after its premiere, is astounding.” She also added that she thinks it’s “so amazing to know that the series is still bringing people of all ages together.”
If you’re a huge fan of the series “Friends,” then you don’t want to miss this opportunity to have a great night (probably over coffee) with your friends. Tickets for “Friends 25th: The One with the Anniversary,” go on sale August 16.
