Meet The New Bruce Wayne
Hold on to your utility belts because our new Dark Knight has been announced. Despite much opposition, Robert Pattinson has been cast in the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman for the new and upcoming Batman movie. Little information has been revealed, but as far as what was made known, Pattinson’s take on the Caped Crusader won’t be another origins story focusing on the dark past of Bruce Wayne.
Pattinson was confirmed to play Batman last week, and it has been reported that the DC hero will return to fight crime on the mean streets of Gotham in 2021.
More recently, it has been revealed that director Matt Reeves reportedly cast Pattinson because he wanted his Batman to be in a specific age bracket, which was roughly 30 years old. This means that the latest iteration will fall in between Ben Affleck’s version of Batman and the young version of Wayne as seen in the hit television show “Gotham.”
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Pattinson’s iteration Wayne is “still trying to find his footing on his way to becoming the genius detective.”
But more exciting than just the news of a new Batman film is the news of the possible villains to be featured in the film. It has been rumored that the movie could see Wayne battling against The Penguin and Catwoman, both of which have not been seen on screen together since Tim Burton’s “Batman Returns.”
