Mariah Carey To Perform “Glitter” Songs On Tour

If you’re a fan of Mariah Cary, then hold on to your socks because it seems that the pop singer’s “Glitter” album is finally getting the respect it deserves. The soundtrack of the 2001 box office flop unexpectedly hit No. 1 on iTunes’ Top 10 albums chart earlier this month, and thanks to #JusticeForGlitter, a heroic movement by fans, Carey is considering performing a medley of hits from the movie during her next tour.

During an interview on “Watch What Happens Live,” Carey was asked if she’d consider singing any Glitter songs after fans boosted the soundtrack to a top spot.
“Since the Lambily got Glitter to No.1 they’ve lifted this huge burden of feeling like, ‘I can’t do stuff from Glitter ’cause nobody knows it, or whatever,’” Carey said. “We’re going to put together perhaps a medley.”

The film may have been a critical and financial failure, but everyone including the pop singer was surprised when it hit No. 1 17 years after its release.

The film “almost ruined my life,” Carey said last week on “The Tonight Show.” “It was a tough time when it came out. It was a whole thing; it was a drama.”

If Carey does end up performing songs from “Glitter,” she plans to perform a medley of tracks on her upcoming “Caution Tour.”
