The NRA has been under fire lately for all of the recent firearm-related events that have happened in the news over the past year. But the NRA is trying to turn all of the bad press around by hosting a fashion show aimed at women.
The NRA Safety Expo was in Fort Worth, Texas this year and the timing for the event may or may not have been coincidental. With all of the bad press and controversy surrounding the NRA and its supporters, the latest “fashion show” may or may not be inspiring supporters both new and longtime supporters.
The fashion show featured one of the newest and fastest-growing groups of supporters of the gun world- women. The newest fashion show featured everyday women carrying firearms.
The goal of the show was to show women that carrying a firearm doesn’t have to be burdening and can work for anyone. Gone are the days of uncomfortably tucking a firearm in your waistband or having to carry unsightly bags to hide your weapon.
Now, women have a fashionable way to stay safe while also looking good. But whether or not it will help the NRA’s cause is still up in the air.
