‘Pocahontas’ May Be The Next Live-Action Movie

Another Disney princess is about to get a live-action remake for the big screen and it’s finally a princess that many have been calling the studios to accurately adapt.

The next princess up on the list for a live-action remake is Pocahontas. Although the original Academy Award-winning 1995 film was met with mixed reviews from both critics and fans for the movie’s plot and racial overtones, the movie itself was still praised for the animation and music.

But with the changing times and Walt Disney Studios trying to make strides in Hollywood, it would only be obvious for them to avoid similar mistakes this time around.

In an effort to avoid another casting controversy, Disney is already trying to find a Native American actress to star in the titular role. Disney will most likely be taking the route of Mulan with its live-action Pocahontas, doing away with much of the silliness that came with the animated film, however, if the studio gets rids of the music that made Pocahontas so memorable, to begin with, fans will probably riot.

But one thing is for sure: Disney will try to be much more historically accurate in this reimagining. Pocahontas is still in the very early stages of being made, so it will be a while before the project actually comes to fruition. It would also be great to see a cast of Native American actors on the big screen for one thing.
