Iron Man is making a comeback in the new ‘Black Widow’ movie
Even though he said he was done, Robert Downey Jr. is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe a lot sooner than expected. In precisely a year after his character heroically took the fall to save the world in “Avengers: Endgame,” Downey Jr. will make an appearance in Scarlett Johansson’s standalone “Black Widow” film.
“Black Widow” will be a prequel that takes place long before the fatal events of “Endgame.” For fans who have seen the movie, they will remember that both Iron Man and Black Widow died in the film.
While it is unknown how big his role in the film will be, it will be both reassuring and sentimental to see Downey Jr. back on the big screen as the sassy and sleek Iron Man/Tony Stark.
Additionally, it was reported that Downey Jr. would lend his voice to a future Disney+ TV show. According to reports, Disney is working on a series based on a teenage genius who continues Tony Stark’s legacy in the comic books. The source states Downey Jr. would return in a voiceover role similar to Paul Bettany’s JARVIS.
In the comics, the character of Ironheart – aka Riri Williams – is introduced when Stark is in a coma. She is trained up by her AI, who is voiced by Stark. It is said the Disney+ series will follow Ironheart’s adventures.
