The best of the nineties is coming back to take us down memory lane. Singer Mel B has revealed the much-awaited reunion of the girl group is “definitely” happening. The “Viva Forever” hitmaker, who was famously known as Scary Spice in the girl group, says the talks are true and that “at least four” of them will hit the road next year.
“There is a reunion happening, now it’s going to be – I’m not supposed to say when – but it is happening,” Mel B said during an appearance on UK TV show “Loose Women.”
The pop group will return with a 13-date tour of the UK culminating in a three day stint at Wembley stadium. However, the group will be one spice short, as Posh Spice — Victoria Beckham — has reportedly declined join the reunion tour.
Beckham’s last show was the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony, when the Spice Girls reunited to perform a medley of hits. Since then, Beckham has focused on her career as a designer. Her fashion label will actually celebrated its tenth anniversary show at London Fashion Week this September.
The “Wannabe” singers have been teasing a reunion for months. Appearing on ITV’s This Morning back in June, Emma Bunton said that she had “an open door policy” when it came to potential reunions. At the Ivor Novello awards in May, Mel C told NME that the group was “talking [and] discussing opportunities for the future.”
