Ah, youth. To be so full of hope, starring on your own hit Saturday morning TV show.
The upcoming Lifetime movie The Unauthorized Saved By The Bell Story focuses on the young stars of the popular ’90s show, Saved By The Bell, as they experience the highs and lows of Hollywood fame.
A two-minute sneak peak of the movie follows Dustin Diamond, played by Sam Kindseth, on his first day on the Disney Channel show Good Morning, Miss Bliss, the middle school prequel to Saved By The Bell. Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Lark Voorhies also star in the movie.
The video highlights the innocence and awe of Diamond and Gosselaar, who is played by a boyish, yet thick-browed Dylan Everett, on their first day of work, even to the point where the boys play tag in the halls of the studio. Come on, it’s the ’90s, at least someone should be playing a video game.
Their youthful looks are only exacerbated by the fact that Kindseth and Everett look to be about three feet tall compared to their real-life counterparts.
The film is largely based on Diamond’s memoir, Behind the Bell which he later admitted was largely inaccurate. The first five minutes can be seen on the Lifetime website.
