Disney World Employee Arrested For Stealing Almost $50,000

A Walt Disney World hotel employee has admitted to stealing almost $50,000 from the theme park in 2016. As reported by WFTV, 31-year-old Jamaica Hall of Kissimmee, Florida, was arrested Monday after he issued fraudulent credit card refunds to hotel guests and transferred the money to his checking account.

The theft took place between April 2016 and December 2016 and totaled $48,531 in refunds, according to an Orange County Sheriff’s Office representative.

It was further revealed by investigators that no hotel guests were directly affected in Hall’s crimes.

During his time of employment, Hall worked as a front desk concierge host at multiple Disney World hotels. However, when he was confronted about the stolen money and admitted to the crime, Disney officials immediately fired him.

Hall was booked Monday into the Orange County Jail on charges of grand theft and is being held in lieu of a $10,000 bail.

Hall’s crimes are not the first in the form of embezzlement of funds from The Walt Disney Company. Last October, federal agents arrested 32-year-old Renan Dias Da Rocha Gomes aboard the Disney Wonder cruise ship after he fraudulently obtained more than $275,000 through his access to the ship’s VeriFone payment system.
