Storytime with celebrities
With so much time on your hands, why not dive back into the first J.K. Rowling classic?
Daniel Radcliffe, David Beckham, Dakota Fanning, and more will read “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” out loud from home in quarantine. Radcliffe, who starred as Harry Potter in all eight films, will start the book by reading Chapter One, “The Boy Who Lived.”
Every week a chapter from the book will be released and read by a lineup of celebrities until all 17 chapters are available. This means that the reading of Rowling’s first book will go on until the middle of summer.
The live readings of the book will be available on Spotify and the Harry Potter at Home website. Other famous names that will join in on the reading of the “Sorcerer’s Stone” include Fantastic Beasts‘ Eddie Redmayne, Stephen Fry (who previously read all seven Harry Potter novels for the UK audiobook recordings), Claudia Kim and Noma Dumezweni. More narrators will be announced in the coming weeks.
Surprise! We've got a treat for you…From today, amazing friends of the Wizarding World are going to take turns reading Harry Potter book one.

The Harry Potter at Home website was launched by Wizarding World Digital and Rowling as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic in order to help children and parents stuck in lockdown. The free initiative provides families with quizzes, puzzles, a fan club, and more.
So what are you waiting for? Dive back into the magic because the book’s first chapter read by Radcliffe is already streaming today!
