‘Samurai Champloo’ Animated Series Comes To YouTube
It’s April so every anime fan knows what that means: a fresh new season of anime. And luckily this one is available right on one of the world’s favorite video platforms: YouTube.
One new anime that has been garnering attention is “Samurai Champloo,” which is being called the perfect Saturday-night-till-Sunday-morning show. A well-blended mix of intense action, beautiful storytelling, and gorgeous animation, “Samurai Champloo” is a great new binge for both new and long-time anime lovers.
Aside from the animation, it’s also hilarious with tongue-in-cheek dialogue and physical humor, both of which are sure to make the viewer laugh.
“Samurai Champloo” is set in Edo-period Japan and follows Mugen and Jin, two swordsmen opposite in nature, and the ex-waitress, Fuu, to whom they are indebted. The overarching and mysterious storyline revolves around Fuu’s quest to find the “samurai who smells of sunflowers.”
Although episodes are set in historical Edo Japan, their subject matter isn’t set strictly to the time period. They tastefully touch on social issues such as war, racism, and poverty.
As well as being made available on YouTube, anime fans can watch the Funimation anime on Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Amazon Prime Video. Funimation owns rights to a wide range of anime including “Cowboy Bebop,” “Attack on Titan,” and “Dragon Ball.”
