Jason Momoa Shaves His Beard And Breaks The Internet
Jason Momoa, whose role on “Game of Thrones” and as “Aquaman” has caused more than a few hearts to flutter, shaved his beard for the environment.
“Goodbye DROGO, AQUAMAN, DECLAN, BABA! I’m shaving this beast off, it’s time to make a change,” he wrote in the caption to a YouTube video, bidding farewell to the look of several of his most famous characters. “A change for the better…for my kids, for your kids, the world.”
The marketing and use of Momoa in the commercial was to draw attention to a new line of canned water that the actor is helping launch with the Ball Corporation. He is encouraging people to “make a switch to INFINITELY RECYCLABLE aluminum.” Since folks are still getting over this being the final season of “Game of Thrones,” Momoa’s actions appear to have the Internet in mourning.
Momoa said roughly 75 percent of all aluminum that’s ever been used is still in circulation today.
“You drink the can and in about 60 days, it’ll be back, 100 percent. Infinitely recyclable,” Momoa said.
The video quickly gained nearly 4.5 million views.
“I just want to do this to bring awareness that plastics are killing our planet,” Momoa says in the video. “And I think I have a solution. I don’t want to bitch about it. There’s only one thing that can really help our planet and save our planet as long as we recycle — and that’s aluminum.”
