DMW remains in a vegatative state following heart attack
Earl Simmons, the rapper known as DMX, is recovering in the hospital since Frida following a nearly fatal overdose triggering a heart attack and is currently unresponsive as of Sunday. Simmons suffered a significant amount of “brain and lung failure” and remains in a “vegetative state” according to former manager Nakia Walker.

Reports indicate Simmons experienced a heart attack on late Friday and was transported to a hospital in White Plains, New York following a drug overdose.
At White Plains Hospital, Simmons was resuscitated and place on life support in the ICU.
Walker confirmed Simmons is in the same condition and remains unresponsive through the weekend with his family surrounding him prayers waiting for him to wake up. Simmons has a history of struggling with drug addiction being incarcerated in the past with drug-related charges and checked himself into rehab after spending a year in prison for tax fraud.

Simmons was admitted to the hospital’s intensive care unit after experiencing a heart attack while the rapper remains in a coma and was on a ventilator. Simmons’ family is planning a prayer vigil outside of the White Plains Hospital today at 5 p.m.
