Another new show possibility for Disney+
If you have already seen “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” you will know that the story zeroed in on its characters, giving a little more detail and background information on them so that they developed as a personality.
One of those characters was Michael Rooker’s Yondu. What was once thought to be just Peter Quill’s childhood kidnapper turned adoptive dad became a dysfunctional father-son dynamic that held a lot of meaning and love in the end.
So, it was a little sad and shocking when Yondu sacrificed his life in order to save Star-Lord near the end of the film. Many fans were actually upset the character was killed off so soon after just getting to know him a little bit better.
However, director James Gunn stated that Yondu would not be resurrected, but it is very possible that Yondu could be getting his own prequel.
Marvel is interested in the idea and if the series were to get the green light, it would be part of Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+. However, little details have been revealed as of right now, and nothing has been officially confirmed as of yet. But many fans are calling for Marvel to make a Yondu series because admit it, you miss the blue spiritual warrior and his famous line “I’m Mary Poppins, Y’all!”
