You'll love Katy Perry's Grammys performance unless you're Donald Trump

Katy Perry is here to make us feel like we’re living in someone else’s American dream.

She performed her new, quasi-political single, “Chained to the Rhythm,” for the first time at the Grammys and, as promised, she included some pointed visuals about Trump’s America. “There’s some imagery that tells a story,” Perry told Seacrest on the red carpet. “Just pay attention to the narrative.”

Perry sang in a white pantsuit — a tribute to the suffragette movement and her girl, Hillary Clinton, who won a Grammy herself in 1996 for the audiobook of It Takes a Village. She accessorized with a sparkly armband reading, “resist.”

The setup was kind of a Truman Show version of the USA, with a white picket fence and not much else.

Eventually it turns into hell.

At the end of the performance, after some pretty great jumps, she and collaborator Skip Marley held hands in front of the Declaration of Independence.

But then again, maybe it wasn’t about fascism. Maybe it was just a Home Improvement tribute.
