Ben & Jerry reveals dairy-free options
The famous ice cream brand is taking even bigger steps in the dairy-free world by announcing that they released new flavors—”Milk” & Cookies, Crème Brûlée Cookie, and Mint Chocolate Cookie—all of which are made with sunflower butter.
The ice cream is perfect for lactose intolerance and those with nut allergies because the usual coconut milk, almond milk, and oat milk is not used at all. The use of sunflower butter makes Ben & Jerry’s the first ice cream brand to do in its nondairy desserts, but the ice creams are still equally as creamy as their dairy counterpart.
In the past, Ben & Jerry’s Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert has been made with an almond milk base., but as more and more people are turning to a fully plant-based lifestyle, the brand decided to come up with an innovative alternative to those who may want something a little different to the typical almond milk-based desserts.
That’s why chefs came up with a new recipe using sunflower butter. The “Milk” & Cookies flavor is a vegan take on the ever-popular cookies and cream ice cream flavors. It is made with vanilla non-dairy ice cream, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate sandwich cookies, and chocolate cookie swirls.
The Crème Brûlée Cookie flavor is for the one that likes to indulge in the sweet and extra creamy. Flavors of burnt caramel with brown sugar cookies and salted caramel swirls come through in this non-dairy frozen dessert.
Though simple and standard, the Mint Chocolate Chip flavor is made with mint vegan ice cream stuffed with chopped chocolate sandwich cookies. The new flavors are already available in grocery stores and are hard to miss. Their bright yellow lid and bold summer flower graphics are sure to draw your attention.
