Inside the Safari Camp Where the Ultra Wealthy Hide From the World
The safari started before the plane even landed.
Within minutes of touching down in the Masai Mara, DownieLive and his parents were already surrounded by giraffes and elephants, right on the airstrip. That’s the kind of welcome only Ishara pulls off.
Ishara isn’t your average camp. The boardwalks were built around the trees instead of cutting them down. Every tent comes with a river-view soaking tub, a private outdoor shower, and a full mini bar. And yes, there really was a hippo snorting just below the deck all night long.
Over four days, the family tracked a pride of lions mid-feast, watched a cheetah finish off its dinner, and got boxed in by an entire elephant herd sheltering from a Mara rainstorm. Basically, every game drive turned into something out of a nature documentary.
But it wasn’t just about the animals. Think surprise bush breakfasts with a full omelet station, a sunset pizza party, a Maasai-led birthday celebration with handmade gifts, and a wellness deck with a Nordic spa, cold plunge, and an infinity pool looking straight out over the savannah.
By day four, DownieLive’s parents were calling it the best trip of their lives.
