Disney Is Planning Classic Cartoon Reboot For The New Streaming Service
Hang on to your nuts because at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, Disney announced that an “original series” on Chip ‘n’ Dale is currently in production for the studios new streaming service, Disney+, and also revealed a first-look image from the series.
Chip and Dale have been reimagined in a new design, and the world they inhabit will result in fun new adventures. Of course, Chip and Dale will retain their signature nose colors, but the style of the new series truly embraces the cartoonish aspects of the production team.
The show is being developed by Disney’s London-based animation team in collaboration with Xilam Animation in Paris. The series will be fully produced by Xilam, directed by Jean Cayrol and produced by Marc du Pontavice.
The series will run 39 episodes at seven-minutes each and will feature the return of everyone’s favorite chipmunks in a comedic, non-verbal way, and will follow their life and adventures of living in the big city. Additionally, Disney shared a first look at the logo for upcoming original series “Monsters at Work,” a TV series spinoff of the classic “Monsters, Inc.” movie.
The small-screen series will follow Mike and Sulley and their many escapades. “Monsters at Work” stars Ben Feldman as Tylor Tuskmon, and original Monsters, Inc. voices Billy Crystal and John Goodman will be returning as Mike and Sulley.
