New Chapter Of The Hunger Games Series
Have you ever read the “Hunger Games” series or watched the movies at least? Well, the story isn’t over because Suzanne Collins is working on a prequel to her massively popular trilogy, according to the New York Times. The books, which spawned a four-film series, were best sellers, and takes place in a dystopian future-America nation called Panem. As the storyline goes, each year 24 children — two from each district — must compete in a televised, violent survival competition called the Hunger Games.
Now, Collins is returning to Panem in a book set 64 years before readers ever met Katniss Everdeen. The novel is set for a May 2020 release.
In a statement, Collins said, “With this book, I wanted to explore the state of nature, who we are, and what we perceive is required for our survival. The reconstruction period 10 years after the war, commonly referred to as the Dark Days—as the country of Panem struggles back to its feet—provides fertile ground for characters to grapple with these questions and thereby define their views of humanity.”
The novel remains untitled but will be published by Scholastic. Even with the book coming out though, there is no guarantee or news that Hollywood will adapt the prequel into a film.
