Famous TV chef is chilling with cocktails while social distancing
Stuck in quarantine with nothing to do? That’s pretty much most of us right now, but that doesn’t mean things have to get boring. Ina Garten, aka Barefoot Contessa shared a cocktail recipe for those that need a drink during this “stay at home” order.
Due to social distancing, many people are participating in virtual happy hours to connect with friends and family. To make things more exciting, Garten shows fans how to mix up one giant batch of Cosmopolitans.
Breaking away from her usual demeanor, Garten took to Instagram to make a classic Cosmopolitan with a big dose of humor. In the video, Garten dumps “good” vodka into a giant pitcher, explaining that “during these stressful times it’s really important to keep traditions alive.”

Next she pours one cup of Cointreau, “or triple sec, any kind of orange liqueur.” She then goes on to add one cup of cranberry juice cocktail and half a cup of freshly squeezed lime juice. After pouring all the ingredients in the pitcher, Garten then pulls out a giant cocktail shaker half-filled with ice.
Garten pours the cocktail into the shaker and instructs viewers to shake for up to 30 seconds.
The last bit is the funniest because Garten then whips out a giant martini glass and pours the whole batch into it. Getting ready to take a sip, Garten signs-off and cheers to everyone to stay safe, have a good time and not to forget the cockatails.
So, what are you waiting for? Just like Garten said, “It’s always cocktail hour in a crisis.”
