It was announced that this would be the last year for the annual Labor Day weekend festival and that didn’t make people too happy.
After receiving backlash from the founder of the festival, Jay-Z himself, the administration behind the call made a decision to reverse it and allow the festival to stay in Philadelphia.
In a meeting between Mayor Kenney and some executives from Jay-Z’s company Roc Nation, they had cleared out the situation and made it clear that it was all a misunderstanding.
The city was having problems with the location of the festival because of the complaints neighbors were having, probably with the loud sound and the crowded spaces full of people. Though nobody ever thought that it was a good idea to stop the entire festival from happening, in an area that is the annual location of this festival.
Kenny was upset about the misunderstanding and said in an interview, ” I just wanted to get this out of the way — this got so complicated and convoluted, I wanted to end the speculation it wouldn’t be here.”
The Made in America Festival is staying in Philadelphia for good now thanks to Jay-Z and his people back at Roc Nation. They stood up for what they started and didn’t want to see their very own festival finished.
