Kanye West seems to be disregarding the brakes when it comes to his philanthropic work in Uganda, and that’s a god thing. After handing out free pairs of Yeezys to kids at a charity event, he and his wife Kim Kardashian West have started plans to build new housing for Ugandan children.
Officials from the Uganda Womens Effort to Protect Orphans, an organization that supports homeless children and reunites them with families and communities, told “The Blast” when Kim and Kanye visited earlier this week, “The couple were welcomed by the children with a song and they were given a tour of the home.”
It was reported that along with handing out pairs of free Yeezys, Kimye, “Promised UWESO to construct a new housing structure for children.”
The proposed structure will replace the current children’s home, which is owned by the Uganda Women’s Effort to Save Orphans.
The Hollywood power couple is dedicated to building this structure because their recent visit inspired their commitment to the project, as they were “welcomed by the children with a song and given a tour of the home.”
UWESO welcomes “any and all collaborations with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian West beyond the construction of the housing structure,” and is excited for the new facility the stars are going to provide.
