Kevin Costner and Ricky Gervais have wildly different methods for handling wolves
British comedian Graham Norton has a way of getting his celebrity guests to share strange stories about things that have happened to them.
Anecdotes about wolves, for instance. During Friday’s show, Kevin Costner spoke about the difficulties he experienced while filming Dances With The Wolves and learning how to train the animals.
“When I met the guy with the wolves, he showed me how they would behave,” explains Costner. “You know, that he would push a button and the wolf would come over here — well when I got out there, those wolves didn’t do shit… I was 10 days over schedule, 30 days into the movie.”
Later, Ricky Gervais — who, it turns out, has also experienced wolf-taming — chipped in with some key advice: “They like their belly being rubbed.”
If ever they bring out Dances with Wolves 2, Costner will know what to do.
