South Florida Rapper Arrested Near Niagra Falls
Bill K. Kapri, better known for his rap persona Kodak Black, was arrested near Niagra Falls, New York for gun and drug charges. The 21-year-old rapper was arrested after attempting to enter the US from Canada with a firearm and drugs, according to New York State Police.
U.S. Border and Customs Protection detained Black and three others before they were arrested.
The rapper faces allegations of criminal possession of a weapon second degree and unlawful possession of marijuana.
The public information officer for Troop A of the New York State Police, Officer James O’Callaghan, said that Black was in possession of an undeclared Glock 9mm pistol in their car at the Lewiston-Queenston International Bridge border.
A Porsche was traveling with Kodak’s Cadillac Escalade with Stetson J. President (24), Madarrow D. Smith (20), and Jeantony Saintmelus (22). Police found two loaded handguns, which Saintmelus “declared” and a third weapon in the trunk of the Porsche. Police claim they also found marijuana.
President and Smith were arrested for criminal possession of a weapon and Saintmelus was booked for criminal possession of a weapon and of marijuana.
On Thursday, however, Black posted bail, and as he was stepped out of jail, it was reported that he attempted to hide his face with cash.
The singer has a court date set for next month.
