Millie Bobby Brown Reveals Details Of Her Next Role

Moving away from D&D monsters and city-demolishing lizards, Millie Bobby Brown is ready to settle into a new role that will have her solving some quaint, less-apocalyptic mysteries.

Variety reports that the “Stranger Thing”s actress will play Enola Holmes, the young sister of Sherlock Holmes, in a new film based on Nancy Springer’s “The Enola Holmes Mysteries” book series. The six-book series follows the budding detective’s own investigations and how they intersect with those of her older brother.

Legendary is set to produce the film, which will be helmed by Harry Bradbeer, the British director behind “Killing Eve” and “Fleabag.” Jack Thorne, who penned the upcoming “His Dark Materials” adaptation for the BBC and HBO, is writing the script.

Filming is slated to begin this summer in London.

In other news, Legendary Pictures has offered the role of Sherlock Holmes to Nicholas Hoult. He is well known for his project “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” but fans can also see the actor on screen as a young J.R.R. Tolkien in the aptly-named film, “Tolkien.”

For the iteration of Holmes, Hoult would play “the brilliant, older brother of Enola. A respective detective, he and his brother try to put Enola in boarding school – which makes her run away.”
