Alice And Dorothy Partner Up For A New Adventure
Two very famous and very influential films could possibly be coming together in an incredible new crossover film!
Reports suggest that the streaming giant Netflix is working on developing a movie featuring a cross-over of “The Wizard Of Oz” and “Alice In Wonderland.” The premise of the new movie will be a “fantasy adventure epic” with the crossover Dorothy being sent to a home for girls who experience nightmares, where she befriends Alice.
The original script was drafted by Justin Merz and Anna Klassen was hired to revamp the script for the project.
“Alice in Wonderland” has been adapted for the screen on numerous occasions, but is most famously remembered as an animated movie by Disney in 1951. In 2010 Tim Burton created a live-action version of the Disney classic with the cast of Mia Wasikowska playing Alice, Johnny Depp playing The Mad Hatter, Anne Hathaway playing The White Queen, and even featured Burton’s Wife Helana Bonham Carter playing The Red Queen.
The star-studded cast all reprised their roles for the 2016 follow-up, “Alice Through the Looking Glass.”
Meanwhile, Judy Garland starred as Dorothy in 1939’s “Wizard of Oz.” The Land of Oz came back to life when director Sam Raimi revisited the fantasy world for 2013’s “Oz the Great and Powerful.” The last film was a prequel featuring James Franco, Michelle Williams, Mila Kunis, and Rachel Weisz.
