If you’re an avid sports fan, then you’ve probably heard that Miami is the next city to host the Super Bowl in 2020. To prepare the USA, the Miami Super Bowl Host Committee on Monday, Feb. 4 released its first promo video featuring Mr. 305 himself, Pitbull.
The Miami Super Bowl Host Committee released the hype video narrated by Miami’s Cuban-American rap and pop music icon. The video captures the many characteristics of Miami and the greater South Florida area, showcasing the melting pot of people, cultures and music. But on the end, the video comes down to what the Super Bowl is all about — football.
In the video, Pitbull notes: “Host of Super Bowl 54, making history; Eleven Super Bowls; we produce the most NFL players, and that’s no mystery.”
The video also highlights the official theme for next year’s contest: “Live it Miami” — which is a play on the roman numerals that will be used to mark the NFL’s 54th championship game between the American Football Conference and the National Football Conference.
Moreover, JP Gutierrez, a Miami resident started a petition on Change.org to get Armando Christian Pérez to perform during next year’s halftime show.
“Our city is a melting pot of all different cultures, and Pitbull is the voice for that,” Gutierrez told The Miami New Times. “I just think we deserve that.”
