Animal Crossing: New Horizons Is Getting A Hefty Update

New update coming soon

How many of you are like me and are playing the new Animal Crossing game nonstop? It’s addictively cute and an escape from the mundane of our current lives. So, if you already have an island and owe Tom Nook some bells for your house, then get ready for Nature Day, Redd’s visit and a slew of other new events.

The “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” next update will arrive on Thursday, April 23, and will add new merchants and an expanded museum, according to Nintendo. Other additions include Leif, the sloth many will remember from “Animal Crossing: New Leaf,” who runs a garden stall, and Redd the fox/art dealer that trades paintings, sculpture, and furniture.

When Leif visits the island, his garden shop will sell shrubs and all sorts of flower seeds. Redd, on the other hand, will occasionally come to players’ “secret beaches” to sell his wares. But for those that may not like the artwork or have too much already, players can donate Redd’s art to Blathers’ museum, which will be expanded to include an art gallery.

And coming up on April 23 and running through May 4, Nature Day will feature special Nook Miles challenges that focus on nature-inspired goals and will encourage players to plant trees, water flowers and more, according to Nintendo.

But the fun isn’t over yet in Animal Crossing. From May 1-7, players can use a one-time May Day Ticket at the island airport to take a limited-time tour to an island that is different from the usual mystery island tours.

From May 18-31, International Museum Day will encourage players to take part in Stamp Rally, an event that allows players to enjoy viewing fish, insects, and fossils while collecting stamps at the various museum exhibits. And most exciting of all is Wedding Season, which will run from June 1-30.

During this season, players can visit Harvey’s island to meet the married couple Reese and Cyrus and help arrange and take anniversary photos with them. Are you excited? I can’t wait for these new updates and expansions!
