The Craziest Ways Humans Have Broken World Records on Wheels

World Records on Wheels

Four wheels, two wheels, or none at all. It does not matter. These people found a way to break records anyway.

A kid named Guri picked up his first skateboard at 4 years old at a YMCA camp. He knew he would not win the contest. So he just went out and put down the sickest tricks he had to show what was possible.

Then there is Aaron “Wheels” Fotheringham. Born with spina bifida, he grew up dreaming of being a pro BMX rider. Instead, he invented WCMX, wheelchair motocross, and landed a massive distance jump followed immediately by a hand plant: two records, one jump.

Cat Dixon and Raz Marsden decided cycling around the world was not enough. So they did it on a tandem. 263 days. 18,263 miles. 25 countries. 5 continents. And they beat the men’s record while they were at it.

Somewhere else, a skateboard got a serious upgrade. One record holder built the largest skateboard in the world to prove that if you cannot land the tricks yourself, you can still make history.

Then things get fast. A custom, brakeless bike, built for exactly one purpose. The result? A new Guinness World Record at 272 km/h.

And finally, a rider named Bob took on the whole United States. 44 days later, he rolled into St. Augustine Beach, Florida, and finished the journey.

Six stories. One obsession. Wheels.
