Halsey Performs With BTS For The First Time
For the second year in a row, Korean boy band BTS returned to the Billboard Music Awards stage, but this time they brought along a new friend to perform with.
If you haven’t logged on to social media yet, then you may not have heard, but the K-pop group sensation killed the stage with fellow superstar Halsey as they performed their smash collaboration “Boy With Luv,” which is from off BTS’ recent album “Map of the Soul: Persona.”
The awards show was filled with the screams of BTS A.R.M.Y. members in the audience, and onstage, BTS replicated scenes from the song’s candy-colored music video, dancing in front of a bright pink movie theater. Halsey later emerged from its doors, joining the group in a high-energy dance routine. Their live performance of the song received one of the loudest receptions of the night.
But even more exciting than that, BTS’ “Map of the Soul: Persona” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in April. They have become the first band since the Beatles to have three Number One albums in less than a year. “Boy With Luv” peaked at Number Eight on the Hot 100.
Prior to the Billboard Music Awards, the boy band further made history as the first Korean act to perform on Saturday Night Live
