Elliot Page Admires And Thanks Fans For Supporting Transgender Transition

Elliot Page thanks for support during transition

The star of “Umbrella Academy” and “Juno,” Ellen Page, revealed on December 1 that he is transgender identifying by he/they pronouns and changed his name to Elliot Page. The announcement came in the form of an announcement letter on all of Page’s social media pages to address his life change and has long embraced the LGBTQ+ community.

Page embraces his new identity saying, “I love that I am trans. And I love that I am queer, And the more I hold myself close and fully embrace who I am, the more I dream, the more my heart grows and the more I thrive.” He concludes the letter by addressing the trans community saying, “I see you, I love you and I will do everything I can to change this world for the better.”

Since introducing the world to Elliot Page, the actor has received an overwhelming amount of support from fans and members of the LGBTQ+ community. On Sunday, Page posted on Instagram, “From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Your love and support have been the greatest gift.”

The actor goes onto advocate for others to support resources for the LGBTQ+ community including the TranSanta and Trans Lifeline. Both organizations are valuable resources to the LGBTQ+ community and help trans youth with much-needed resources.

The TranSanta project is a crowdsourced, gift-giving project to give back to less fortunate trans youth during the holidays with volunteers who can purchase items from online registries for holiday gifts for trans youth. The project was co-founded by intersex and trans organizers including the star of “Pose” Indya Moore for a social media-based initiative for trans youth in foster care or experiencing homelessness.

The transanta Instagram page features real note from trans youth to TranSanta with the website link in the bio section. On the TranSanta website, volunteers can read the stories of trans youth and give back by gifting them with items on their registry.

Trans Lifeline is a non-profit organization founded in 2014 shortly after the establishment of the Trans Day of Remembrance with the goal of providing a counseling resource for the trans community. Both of these organizations are worth supporting and Page is keeping his promising on advocating for the LGBTQ+ community through the support these organizations.
