Wands at the ready!
Potterheads will be able to head over fulfill all their magical dreams when they head over to the second tour location of the Harry Potter Studio. Based in Tokyo, Japan, the Harry Potter Studio Tour will be the sister site to the famous Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter in Watford. The first proved to be such a hit among fans that opening a second location was only a matter of time.
Like the London location, the new tour will feature tons of original props, costumes, and sets from the Harry Potter films. The Tokyo tour will also include Fantastic Beasts offerings for fans of the continuing series.
The new Tokyo attraction will cover an area of about 30,000sqm and just like the UK version, it will include a ‘backlot’ and ‘soundstage.’ The Studio Tokyo Tour is expected to open in 2023.
For those that are itching to reenter the wizarding world, the Wizarding World at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter has reopened. The attraction opened its doors on Thursday, August 20 after being forced to close earlier this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Muggles (and self-proclaimed witches and wizards) will be able to wander through the elaborate film sets including Diagon Alley, the vaults in Gringotts, the Gryffindor Common Room and the Hogwarts Great Hall. Of course, there will also be costumes and props to discover, as well as behind-the-scenes secrets.
And in even better news, for the first time ever, the Slytherin Common Room will be open for guests to explore. The new addition was originally supposed to run until September but has now been extended to November to give fans more time to visit and explore all the secrets of Slytherin House.
