Mo, an American Staffordshire terrier who now lives in Flagstaff with his owner Kristin Allen, has a fondness for ‘screaming.’ He screams at pigeons, at people and at cars. After Allen began posting videos of Mo screaming, her four-legged friend began capturing the hearts of people across the Internet. But Mo’s story goes back a little more than a year ago.
Mo was a stray dog, wandering the streets of Phoenix, AZ during on the city’s hottest summers on record. The day before Father’s Day, Allen had just returned home from an evening of dog sitting when she noticed Mo from a distance. After calling out to him a few times, he wandered over to her and rested his head on her leg. She knew then and there that she need him as much as he needed her.
Allen took Mo to Maricopa County Animal Care and Control the next morning to make sure there were no owners looking for him. That was when she noticed Mo’s happy screams. After three days had passed without anyone claiming him, Allen finally adopted Mo and brought him home. Mo has since settled in and screams whenever he’s happy or he wants attention.
Mo’s personal Instagram account — @mothescreamingstaffy — had 700 followers before the viral video of him screaming in the backseat of the car was posted on social media. Not long after, Mo had more than 50,000 followers. Mo is now an ambassador for pit bull type dogs and an advocate for animal adoption.
