If you though soaking in a bathtub full of rose petals was relaxing, imagine what playing in a tub full of cherry blossom petals will do to you!
March 22 is when the cherry blossoms are predicted to start blooming in Tokyo this year. And while many will want to stroll the pink filled streets of the city, there is one place in Japan’s capital where you’re absolutely guaranteed to be able to have a lot of sakura-themed fun.
Located in Tokyo’s fashionable Minami Aoyama neighborhood, the Sakura Chill Bar boasts an interior like no other, with not only a faux cherry blossom tree, but a sakura pool filled with 1.2 million sakura petal replicas.
The bar’s owners say the pool is “knee-deep” with the symbols of spring, and specializes in sake, specifically Saga sake. The Sakura Chill Bar offers a grand total of 23 different brands from the southwestern prefecture, with three-pour sampler flights, accompanied by an assortment of Saga Prefecture snacks. The Sakura Chill Bar also offers non-alcoholic beverages for those who prefer a virgin drink.
To be completed in two stages, the first dozen of the 23 Saga sake varieties will be offered between March 22 and 26, and the remaining 11 will be offered from March 27. The Sakura Chill Bar is also following the cherry blossom season, meaning it will remain open from March 22 to March 31.
