Kangaroo boxing legends duke it out in middle of road

A father and son in Queensland didn’t expect to witness the sporting event of the year on their drive home from the pub. But they did.

Quinton Turner and his dad were forced to halt their vehicle Sunday night when they came across two kangaroos tussling in the middle of the road. The battle lasted more than 15 minutes — at one point, the two fighters even collided with the car.

Kangaroo fights aren’t uncommon, but they aren’t usually so lengthy. “I had never seen [kangaroos fight] before, and my father had never seen them fight for so long,” Turner told local newspaper The Gladstone Observer.
