One Of The Most Iconic Songs From “Lady and the Tramp” Is Cut From Re-Make
A lot of fans were excited to hear that Disney would be making a live-action remake of the beloved “Lady and the Tramp” film. The movie would be making its way to the Disney Company’s upcoming streaming service Disney+, and more than just premiering on the new service, it seems the movie is undergoing some changes that aren’t an exact match to the original animated film.
The new live-action “Lady and the Tramp” will not feature the Siamese cat song, which many claims to be controversial. The song first plays in the animated movie when Lady meets the twin cats, and many have come to say the song is offensive as it highlights some extreme Asian stereotypes.
As a result from many complaints and critics, a report from Variety revealed that the live-action remake will be changing the scene and using original music from Janelle Monae, who will be lending her voice for a character in the film as well.
Monae will also be working on “reinventing” the music in the famous Siamese scene. Disney, on the other hand, is making even bigger changes, and will reportedly not be using Siamese cats in this version of the film.
