Le Café V and Sugalabo V to open in Osaka
Swapping a designer bag for a chef’s hat, Louis Vuitton is opening up a café and restaurant in its new Osaka, Japan location. Opening on Feb. 1, this is the first time the French fashion house is venturing into the culinary world.
Le Café V and Sugalabo V will feature dishes prepared by the famous chef Yosuke Suga who was once the pupil of the 32-Michelin star-earner Joël Robuchon. Le Café V, a pre- and post-shopping hangout, that boasts a dining area, will be located on the top floor of the building and will feature a cocktail bar and colorful outdoor terrace.
At dinnertime, Sugalabo V will open its doors to invite guests into its intimate atmosphere to enjoy a luxurious dinner. Decorated with warm tones and woods that were custom designed by creators for Louis Vuitton’s Objets Nomades, the brand’s furniture and travel collection, Sugalabo V will only seat a few people for a few dinners per night. That means reservations are necessary.
Louis Vuitton is just one of many luxury brands that have ventured into the culinary section. Tiffany opened its Blue Box Café in 2017. Nordstrom partnered with Ethan Stowell for its restaurant Wolf while Saks Fifth Avenue opened L’Avenue, the second location of the famous Parisian bistro.
