You’ve probably had your daily dose of Oscars news, from fashion on the red carpet to who won what. But, we have a little more for you with the must watch performances from the night. The five nominees for Best Original Song this year were: Sufjan Stevens, “Mystery of Love” (Call Me By Your Name); Mary J. Blige, “Mighty River” (Mudbound); Miguel Featuring ft. Natalia Lafourcade, “Remember Me (Dúo)” (Coco); Andra Day Featuring Common, “Stand Up For Something” (Marshall); “This Is Me” (The Greatest Showman).
There were some emotional performances Sunday night, one of which as “Remember Me (Ernesto de la Cruz),” which won an Oscar for the Best Original Song for its feature in Coco. The artists from the original soundtrack that graced the stage for this performance were Gael Garcia Bernal, Miguel and Natalia LaFourcade. What a star-studded group!
Another must-see performance featured two music industry powerhouses in Common and Andra Day, who performed “Stand Up for Something” in a somber and emotional performance. But perhaps the most talked about performance of the night was by The Greatest Showman’s Keala Settle, who wowed the crowd with ‘This Is Me.’ Settle was the last of the five nominees to perform, but she brought the crowd of stars to their feet. She ultimately lost the award for Best Original Song to “Remember Me.”
