Reclaimed Trash Musical Instrument Craftsman

“You can find magic, just right around you. Wherever you are right now,” says artist and musician Ken Butler. He creates instruments from reclaimed items that are otherwise considered trash.

His main interest in creating these instruments with sculptural and ergonomic quality that instruments present. Butler is also no novice to creating instruments with his collection of over 400 creations, using reclaimed objects he found on the streets.

Butler finds inspiration by transforming the perception people have with objects that people take for granted through using materials that people have already destroyed. Some of his creations need to be seen to be believed that they are actually an instrument.

One of his creations is a string instrument made of two hockey sticks, a tennis racket, some screws and strings. Another creation includes a one-string golf club instrument.
