Ryan Adams covers 3 Taylor Swift songs on 'The Daily Show' and feels things

Ryans Adams stopped by The Daily Show With Trevor Noah on Thursday as its first musical guest to perform not one, but three covers from his 1989 cover album — “Bad Blood,” “Style,” and “Blank Space.”

Noah claims to be a Swiftie, which is a smart move. While making enemies is part of the job description as Daily Show host, there’s a difference between fearing Vladimir Putin and being excluded from Taylor Swift‘s squad.

Prior to the show’s premiere this week with its new host, Noah opened up about the significance of Adams playing cover songs on the show.

“[Adams has] taken something that was loved by many, cherished by many, and he’s created a new version of it for himself,” he said. “And people have gone ‘wow, this is actually amazing. We can still like Taylor Swift, but we can also like Ryan Adams’ 1989.'”

“This one goes out to Sandra Bullock’s character in The Net, which I just watched six times on my break,” Adams said.
