Stay Away From These Beach Dangers

Whether you are heading to the beach for your annual beach vacation or you go to the beach on an everyday basis, make sure you are aware of these summer beach dangers.

Don’t touch jellyfish! Even if they are washed ashore, their wet tentacles will still sting you. If you do get stung, here is a tip for helping the pain. Pee on the sting. Yes, I know it is strange, but it will help the sting!

Rip currents. The strong tides pull you away from the shore and out towards shore. If you are caught in a rip current, don’t panic. Swim parallel to the shore and go back to shore at an angle.

Shark attacks. While these are incredibly rare, it is important to be aware. Contrary to belief, shark attacks are more likely to happen near shore and are also more likely if you are swimming alone. So swim with a buddy!
