‘A Cinderella Story’ Will Celebrate This Christmas
Another teenage fairy tale movie is coming our way, but this time, it will be filled with the magic and cheer of Christmas!
After 15 years and four movies later, the “A Cinderella Story” film saga is officially stepping into Christmas territory. “Austin & Ally” star Laura Marano will be the next to step into Cinderella’s shoes for the franchise’s fifth installment, titled “A Cinderella Story: Christmas Wish” — joining the likes of Hilary Duff, Selena Gomez, Lucy Hale and Sofia Carson.
In the film, Laura will play Katherine “Kat” Decker, an aspiring singer-songwriter who dreams of making it big. However, her dreams are stalled by her reality: a “conniving and cruel stepfamily” — namely a stepmom and two stepsisters in true Cinderella fashion — and “a demoralizing job working as a singing elf at billionaire Terrence Wintergarden’s Santa Land.”
But what’s a Cinderella story without the romance? Kat soon develops a crush on “the handsome new Santa at the tree lot,” Dominic Wintergarden, played by none other than Marvel’s Runaways’ Gregg Sulkin.
Johannah Newmarch will play the cruel stepmother Deirdra Decker, Isabella Gomez is Isla, Kat’s best friend, and Lillian Doucet-Roche and Chanelle Peloso will play the roles of stepsisters Joy and Grace.
