Celebrities Pull Out All The Stops For The Met Gala Pink Carpet
If anyone is going to watch the Met Gala it is going to be for the red carpet and all the outrageous outfits stars wear to the elaborate events. This year, the bad taste got quite the high-fashion makeover as many took this year’s theme, “Camp: Notes on Fashion” and made it an iconic moment to remember.
Take Lady Gaga for example. Mother Monster is well known for her exaggerated and theatrical looks, and this year is no different. Her grand entrance in Brandon Maxwell sparked a social media frenzy over her four outfits that ended up turning into a haute striptease. Lady Gaga arrived in a voluminous hot pink dress, which she then stripped down to a black gown, a pink slip dress and finally into a crystal bra and panties.
Cardi B was another iconic moment, showing up to the Met Gala in a dramatic burgundy gown that extended down into a quilted circular train. The by Thom Browne dress, which was trimmed with feathers, took more than 2,000 hours to make.
Katy Perry showed up as a life-sized chandelier with electric candles that were dripping with crystals, all of which was designed by Moschino’s Jeremy Scott.
But probably the most memorable of all was Zendaya who had an absolute fairytale entrance. The actress and singer wore a black Tommy Hilfiger gown, and as she was walking up the stairs with her stylist, Law Roach, he waved a wand and transformed her dress into a glowing version reminiscent of the iconic baby blue gown worn by Cinderella.
