Mumbai-based all-vocal orchestra Voctronica has released the perfect tribute to composer AR Rahman on the eve of his 49th birthday on Jan. 6. The group’s new video “Evolution of AR Rahman” charts his musical journey in just under five minutes, without using any instruments.
The group has selected its favourite tracks from Rahman’s early films such as Roja, Bombay and Rangeela in the early 1990s, to the Oscar-winning score of Slumdog Millionaire for the a capella medley.
Last year, Voctronica had collaborated with comedy group All India Bakchod for a viral video that compiled classic Indian ads and their melodies.
