In light of the recent news that Tokyo Disneyland would be adding a new attraction to its park, Disney Parks has offered a sneak peek video of the upcoming Beauty and the Beast ride and attraction, “The Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast.”
The project is modeled after the original 1991 animated film and features animatronic figures of Belle, the Beast/Prince Adam, her horse Philippe and other notable characters.
Belle is set to appear in multiple outfits, including her signature everyday blue dress and white apron as well as her famous yellow ball gown. The actual vehicles will be giant teacups resembling Chip’s china pattern that will navigate autonomously throughout Beast’s castle.
The teacups will move without the use of a track, allowing them to follow unique paths and even repetitively circle a room, which is a technology that has become incredibly popular in the company’s overseas theme parks.
The upcoming Beauty and the Beast ride will even let visitors “dance” along with Belle and the Beast in the movie’s much-loved ballroom scene, which will undoubtedly be one of the ride’s highlights.
The ride will also recreate the famous “Be Our Guest” dinner table sequence where the animatronic characters are designed to look and move exactly like the animated characters from the movie.
The Imagineers responsible for designing the ride worked with some of the same animators who contributed to the original film back in 1991, so visitors can be sure that they’ll be fully immersed in the enchanting story of “Beauty and the Beast.”
