Trump’s Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star Returns

President Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame has fame of its own: it was vandalized and demolished twice — first in 2016, and most recently in July. In both cases, the star was damaged by pick axes and sledgehammers, and many fights also were reported at the location between pro and anti-Trump forces.

The suspect that was charged with the July incident was 24-year-old Austin Mikel Clay. He was booked on felony vandalism and jailed on a $20,000 bail.

On Saturday, Trump’s star returned to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, the people who administer the star, issued a statement regarding Trump’s star.

“Any star, which is vandalized or destroyed, no matter which honoree it belongs to will be replaced by the Hollywood Historic Trust, a non-profit, non-partisan group,” said Leron Gubler, the President and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a historic landmark, which celebrates the professional contributions of the inductees. The stars once installed, are considered part of the historic fabric of the Walk.”

Goblet also said, “When people are angry with one of our honorees, we would hope that they would project their anger in more positive ways than to vandalize a California State landmark. Our democracy is based on respect for the law. People can make a real difference by voting and not destroying public property.”
