A peek of “Wonder Woman 1984”
Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot’s Twitter account just dropped a new poster for “Wonder Woman 1984” and social media has been blowing up ever since. Even though there won’t be much going on for the Wonder Woman side of things for Warner Bros. at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con, Jenkins did state that the marketing campaign will kick off this December, meaning more information and reveals for the film will come in the winter.
However, one important thing to note is that the movie opens exactly one year from yesterday, June 5, 2020. In the new vibrant poster, Gadot, 34, is all suited up as Wonder Woman in shiny new gold armor and surrounded by psychedelic and colorful background.
In the first movie, the storyline jumps all the way back to World War I for Diana’s origin story as Wonder Woman, but for the sequel, the storyline will jump ahead to the ‘80s.
Alongside the reveal of the poster, Gadot wrote on Instagram: “Although all of us at Warner Brothers won’t be seeing you at SDCC – Hall H this year. We are so excited for what’s to come. So until then here’s a little gift from us to you.”
In the upcoming movie, Kristen Wiig costars in the movie as the villain Cheetah. In the comics, Cheetah is feline-esque with strength and speed that makes her a worthy adversary against Wonder Woman.
